Espace Tangente, 2002.

Taking inspiration from the dance moves of American Bandstand, and the music of Motown Records, Locked Groove explores the gesture, energy and spirit that took hold of teenagers the 1950's. An abstraction of popular dances such as the twist and jitterbug, the piece juxtaposes the youth culture of the past with the one of today, setting the movement vocabulary to a modern electronic music score by Dylan Wagner.

Choreography: Sasha Kleinplatz and Andrew Tay
